A map built from memory
Atlas of Small Waters treats local knowledge as infrastructure. Residents can follow a creek from a recorded recollection to a measured tide and then into a printable walking route.
The interface stays quiet so the accumulated voices remain central.
The project pairs a durable Rails content model with deliberately modest public pages that continue to work when a map is unavailable.
