Words change the shape of a page
For one week, every prototype had to use copy that could plausibly ship. Headlines became uneven. Excerpts wrapped at awkward moments. Empty states suddenly needed an actual point of view.
- Cards needed limits without flattening the voice.
- Navigation labels became shorter and clearer.
- Metadata moved closer to the decisions it explained.
The exercise slowed the first hour and saved several days of polishing a layout that only worked with idealized text.
